Can someone explain Gunbroker for me?
I usually buy guns in person but Gunbroker is really tempting me. I wouldn't buy anything used as I cant inspect it but there are some NIB guns that I have a hard time finding at local shops.
Anyway, what is the buying process like. What steps do I need to take before and after the sale. I'm accustom to walking into a gun shop and walking out with my new firearm.. this whole online thing leaves me scratching my head.
Thanks in advance!
Ok, so does the dealer selling on gunbroker or the FFL I am having the gun shipped to perform the background check? Just curious as to the process and what to expect after I win an auction.
I've purchased several firearms on Gunbroker. When looking for a specific firearm I go to the "Advanced Search" and select only to look in my State. If there is one within driving distance I verify with the seller that I can pick it up instead of having it shipped. This not only saves on shipping but gives you a slight edge over other bidders since you won't be paying shipping.
If you don't have an FFL dealer that you use check the link below and find one close and you can verify what they charge. Call the FFL that you want to use and talk to them about how they handle transfers.
Normally, the selling price includes any other charges on the seller's end and/or they post any additional charges. I've never had any problems on GB and the feedback system really works.
Good luck!
